Victor Boniface suspended for one game in Germany over anti-sports conduct, will also pay a fine of €23,000 for the misconduct

Super Eagles and Bayern Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface, has been suspended for one game by the German Football Federation.


Boniface was suspended for anti-sporting conduct after Saturday’s game against Stuttgart when the German champions won on penalties to win the German Super Cup.


The striker also pointed his middle finger to Stuttgart players after the match.


Alongside the suspension, the 23-year-old will also pay a fine of €23,000 for the misconduct.


Boniface will be back for Bayern Leverkusen’s first game against Borussia Monchenglabach on Friday but will not feature in the next German Cup match that the club will be playing next.


Victor Boniface joined Bayern Leverkusen last summer and went on to score 14 goals, helping the team to win the Bundesliga title for the first time in history.

Simon Ekpa hires American lobbyist to advance Biafra’s cause in the United States

Simon Ekpa, a controversial Biafra agitator, has hired an American lobbying firm, Moran Global Strategies (MGS), to advance agitation for the independent state of Biafra. Mr Ekpa, based in Finland, heads Autopilot, a faction of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). IPOB is a separatist group agitating for the creation of an independent state of Biafra from south-east and some parts of south-south Nigeria. Heavily armed Policemen late Wednesday night invaded the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Headquarters, Abuja, commonly known as Labour House. Though details of the invasion is still sketchy, Vanguard gathered that the stern looking policemen stormed the Labour House some few minutes to 9 pm and ransacked both the Second and 10th floors. A source told Vanguard that “Comrades, armed security men, both in uniform and mufti just invaded the Labour House in their numbers and were at the 10th Floor and 2nd Floor. “They broke into second floor and ransacked books at the bookshop carrying all the materials into their van claiming that the materials were used to incite and organize the recent protest.”

Nandap made this known on Tuesday in Abuja during a combined news conference by the heads of security agencies and Service Chiefs convened by the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, at the Defence Headquarters. She said, “We have identified some diaspora sponsors; they are on our watch list. “We will be notified of any attempt they make to enter the country, and they will be picked up and handed to the appropriate authority.” The immigration boss said the service had, in response to the protest, deployed more officers to borders, both land and airports, to ensure effective manning of those entry ports.
