‘I’m hale, hearty’, Tekno denies reports of on-stage collapse in South Africa

Nigerian singer Augustine Miles Kelechi Okechukwu, popularly known as Tekno, has refuted claims that he collapsed while performing on stage in South Africa.


The rumor spread after a viral video surfaced, showing an artist experiencing what appeared to be a seizure during a live performance in South Africa.


In the clip, several men were seen assisting the collapsed singer, leading fans to speculate that the individual was Tekno.

However, the singer took to his Instagram page on Tuesday to clarify the situation. He assured fans that he is in good health and not present in South Africa.

He wrote,” Hey guys, I’m hale and hearty and not currently in South Africa.

I hope whoever that was in the video is doing well and ok.

Thank you guys. Love you.”

Sowore released after brief detention at Lagos airport

The Nigerian Immigration Service initially detained Omoyele Sowore, the convener of the #RevolutionNow Movement, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Sunday immediately after his return to Nigeria. 161 Nigerian students fail UK border checks, denied entry

No fewer than 1,425 international students who gained admission to universities in the United Kingdom were denied entry at the country’s airports between 2021 and 2023. A total of 161 Nigerians were affected, as they were removed on arrival at airports across the UK. According to data exclusively obtained from the UK Home Office through the Freedom of Information Act, India topped the list of affected foreign students with 644, representing 45 per cent of the figure, while Nigeria followed with 11.3 per cent. Ghana is third on the list with 92 (6.46 per cent), while Bangladesh is fourth with 90 (6.32 per cent). However, the released data, covering October 2021 to October 2023, is limited to students denied entry at the airports.
