Fuji singer Obesere survives life-threatening surgery

Fuji music star, Abass Akande, aka Obesere, has expressed gratitude to God after surviving a life-threatening surgery.


In a post on Instagram on Saturday, Obesere revealed that the surgery almost took his life, but he escaped death.


He wrote “The Almighty Allah has been merciful to me. I escaped a surgery that almost took my life but Allah said NO!”

His post sparked an outpouring of well-wishes from fans who were grateful for the successful surgery and wished him speedy recovery.

Simon Ekpa hires American lobbyist to advance Biafra’s cause in the United States

Simon Ekpa, a controversial Biafra agitator, has hired an American lobbying firm, Moran Global Strategies (MGS), to advance agitation for the independent state of Biafra. Mr Ekpa, based in Finland, heads Autopilot, a faction of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). IPOB is a separatist group agitating for the creation of an independent state of Biafra from south-east and some parts of south-south Nigeria. The two regions are usually called “Biafra” or sometimes “Biafra land” by IPOB and other separatist groups in the area. Heavily armed Policemen late Wednesday night invaded the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Headquarters, Abuja, commonly known as Labour House. Though details of the invasion is still sketchy, Vanguard gathered that the stern looking policemen stormed the Labour House some few minutes to 9 pm and ransacked both the Second and 10th floors. A source told Vanguard that “Comrades, armed security men, both in uniform and mufti just invaded the Labour House in their numbers and were at the 10th Floor and 2nd Floor. “They broke into second floor and ransacked books at the bookshop carrying all the materials into their van claiming that the materials were used to incite and organize the recent protest.”

During a recent interactive session posted on X Sunday, the ‘Ome Ope’ singer said that while he can sing in English, he prefers to sing in his native dialect, Yoruba. Speaking further, the singer emphasized that he cannot change who he is to become someone else. He stressed that those who appreciate his use of Yoruba should continue to vibe with him, while others can choose to do otherwise. “I am more comfortable singing in Yoruba, it’s not that I can’t sing in English. Nandap made this known on Tuesday in Abuja during a combined news conference by the heads of security agencies and Service Chiefs convened by the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, at the Defence Headquarters. She said, “We have identified some diaspora sponsors; they are on our watch list. “We will be notified of any attempt they make to enter the country, and they will be picked up and handed to the appropriate authority.” The immigration boss said the service had, in response to the protest, deployed more officers to borders, both land and airports, to ensure effective manning of those entry ports. She said that NIS had also stepped up surveillance to prevent foreign intervention in the country. The proposal, which was captured in a viral video, shows the talent manager guiding Adesanya to the venue, where he then popped the question. The Federal Government has declared Monday, September 16, 2024, as a public holiday to mark the celebration of the Eid-ul-Mawlid. Eid-ul-Mawlid is the commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
